Marina's Hollander makes a State-ment

Cross-country standout, who lost about 40 pounds during the past year and a half, put it all together her senior year and finished second at prestigious state meet.

Marina High School student-athlete Laura Hollander knew she wanted to be a runner in fourth grade. But she didn't know why.

Saturday, almost a decade later, she finally figured it out.

"Running is the one sport that I'm the only person that has control over," she said. "I'm the only one that affects my outcome. You can just go out there and put everything into it and try to do your best."
